    Overview

Chiyogiku is a long-established sake brewery located in Hashima City, Gifu Prefecture, with a history dating back to the year 1738 (Genbun 3).
With over 250 years of traditions, this brewery utilizes the abundant spring water from the Nagara River, which contributes to the pure flavor that characterizes their sake.
The brewery is conveniently located about 387 meters from Hashima City Hall Mae Station, making it a great spot to visit.
Chiyogiku offers a diverse range of products, primarily focused on sake.
One of the most popular offerings is "Chiyogiku," a junmai sake known for its refreshing taste.
This sake has been consecutively awarded at the Monde Selection since 2009, attesting to its high quality.
Additionally, they sell items like daiginjo and liqueurs, with the "Ouga," released in 2011, being particularly well-received for its fruity, refreshing sweetness achieved by infusing lotus root in white liquor.
While there are no seating arrangements available inside the store, customers can purchase their products to take home.
The brewery is closed on Sundays and holidays, but it is open for general sales, making it a recommendable spot for tourists.
The brewery also hosts events for sake brewery tours twice a year, providing a rare opportunity to see the production process firsthand.
Not only are these premium products perfect as special souvenirs, but they can also be enjoyed at home, making it worthwhile to give them a try.
Visiting Chiyogiku allows you to experience its traditional atmosphere along with the delightful encounter of exquisite sake.
If you're in Hashima City, why not take the time to visit this charming, historic brewery? Your meeting with their historically rich and flavorful sake might lead to new discoveries.
