Tamagawa Sake Brewery is a long-established sake brewery located in Uonuma City, Niigata Prefecture, founded in the 13th year of the Kanbun era.
It is conveniently situated just 364 meters from Echigo Suhara Station.
The operating hours are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and it is advisable to check ahead before visiting.
The interior does not have seating arrangements, so most visitors come primarily for purchasing purposes.
This brewery offers a diverse range of alcoholic beverages, including sake and umeshu (plum wine).
The "Itokki Junmai Ginjo" is particularly popular, characterized by its refreshing taste and fruity sweetness.
Additionally, the umeshu made from sake has received high praise, with its mellow flavor being a unique offering.
Limited edition products, such as "Kata-Ou Junmai Daiginjo," are also available, and the beautiful blue packaging catches the eye.
Tamagawa Sake Brewery also conducts tour visits, which can be joined by individuals or groups without prior reservations.
During these tours, visitors can observe the actual production process, such as the rice steaming technique, making it a favorite among tourists.
The brewery is equipped with a snow room, a natural cooling facility, where sake aged in this environment develops a special flavor.
In the tasting corner, you can enjoy over ten varieties of sake and have the opportunity to find your favorite.
The "Samurai Napoleon," a powerful sake with an impressive alcohol content of 46%, is popular as an overseas souvenir due to its unique name and high alcohol level.
Additionally, there are a variety of other options, such as coffee liqueur, ensuring enjoyment beyond just sake.
In this way, Tamagawa Sake Brewery not only sells sake but also provides customers with an experiential way to enjoy their products.
As a part of Japanese culture born through traditional techniques coexisting with the beautiful natural environment, it is certainly worth a visit.
