    Overview

Otsubo Shuzoten is an attractive sake brewery located in Kamioka Town, Hida City, Gifu Prefecture.
It is conveniently situated just a 6-minute walk from the Nishizato bus stop on the Nohi Bus route.
The opening hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday, with Sundays being a day off.
It's also important to note that Otsubo Shuzoten is closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, so it's advisable to check in advance before your visit.
At this brewery, you can enjoy local limited-edition products and unique offerings.
One notable item is the "Kamiyo Super-Kamiokande Version," available in a 720ml bottle for 1,577 yen.
This product features a unique label design that prints the light-emitting tubes from the Super-Kamiokande on the back, reminiscent of a small experimental tank.
Additionally, 10% of the sales from this product are donated to the University of Tokyo's Institute for Cosmic Ray Research Young Support Fund, contributing to space and particle physics research.
Moreover, Otsubo Shuzoten offers a kanten jelly made with sake and sake lees from their "Hida Musume" brand.
Priced at a reasonable 400 yen for a 200g package, this jelly is a delightful treat for sake lovers.
However, it contains alcohol, so it's essential for minors and those who are sensitive to alcohol to be cautious.
The jelly has a subtly sweet flavor, making it enjoyable for many.
The atmosphere inside the store is welcoming, and the staff members are friendly and approachable, providing warm customer service.
This town is blessed with a rich natural environment, allowing you to sense the care for the surrounding nature, which complements the delicious sake.
Additionally, there is a second floor open for tours, where those interested may get a glimpse of the brewing process.
Otsubo Shuzoten offers a diverse range of sake, including the refreshing "Hida Musume" and various other varieties, each featuring different flavors and characteristics.
Among these, the "Suzuka," with its sweetness and smooth texture, is particularly popular.
Exploring combinations with other sake can lead to exciting pairings with new snacks.
I highly recommend visiting Otsubo Shuzoten to experience its unique charm for yourself.
Delicious Japanese sake and warm hospitality await you!
