    Washoku Umeda is a kaiseki restaurant located in Matsuan, Suginami Ward, Tokyo, just a 4-5 minute walk from the south exit of JR Nishiwakubo Station.
     The interior is bright and clean, featuring 8 counter seats and one private table (for 4), creating a calm atmosphere.
     The restaurant is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 17:30 to 23:00, with Mondays as its regular holiday.
     Additionally, it is closed on the second Tuesday of each month.
    At this restaurant, guests can enjoy meticulously prepared dishes that reflect the changing seasons.
     The "Ume" omakase course (8,800 yen including tax) is especially popular, featuring a luxurious assortment of appetizers, sashimi, grilled dishes, and more.
     The first course includes seasonal delicacies like Kyoto nanohana (rapeseed), steamed abalone, and sea urchin, all beautifully presented to delight the eyes as well as the palate.
     The hassun (a platter of assorted appetizers) includes stewed sea bream roe, firefly squid marinated in umami, and vinegared octopus, offering a variety of flavors.
    The main grilled dish features a combination of poached flounder and tempura of koshihikari (sweet, local fish) along with half-seared homemade karasumi (dried mullet roe).
     Each carefully crafted dish is heartwarming and satisfying.
     The bamboo shoots sourced from Kyoto served as a part of the meal are also exceptional.
     To conclude, guests can enjoy a chocolate terrine as a sweet treat.
    The beverage menu is extensive, featuring a selection of Japanese sake, shochu, wines, and Japanese gin.
     Among these, the hot sake, "Mtokoi Namamoto" (750 yen including tax), is highly praised for its perfect pairing with the traditional dishes.
