    Overview

Kanemasu Shuzo is a sake brewery located in Shibata City, Niigata Prefecture, and was established in the Edo period, specifically in the 5th year of the Bunsei era.
It is conveniently situated about a 10-minute walk from Shibata Station.
The brewery operates on weekends only, with hours from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM; however, it is closed on Mondays through Fridays, so it's advisable to check in advance before visiting.
This sake brewery offers a diverse range of Japanese sake, with particular attention paid to "Hiyakorizu Junmai Ginjo Takara-zukushi.
" This sake is characterized by its aromatic profile and incredibly clear taste with almost no off-flavors.
Its delicate flavor pairs exceptionally well with sashimi and lightly seasoned simmered dishes.
Additionally, the "Kanemasu Aoi Label" is also popular, each offering a different personality to enjoy.
The brewery has a café on-site, but unfortunately, it was closed during my visit.
However, there is a Japanese garden that guests can freely explore, providing a unique experience of feeling the atmosphere of a traditional town.
In such an environment, one can enjoy beautiful scenery while gaining a deeper understanding of Japanese culture.
Moreover, the Japanese sake brewed here is especially excellent as a food pairing, making it suitable for pairing with a variety of dishes.
At Kanemasu Shuzo, visitors can learn not only about the Japanese garden and its historical background but also about the high-quality sake and the attractive ways to enjoy it.
Why not visit and find your own favorite sake?
