Overview
Shiraito Shuzo is a traditional sake brewery located in Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture, founded in 1855 (the second year of the Ansei era).
It is conveniently accessible by car, approximately 2,570 meters from the Ikitayama Station.
The opening hours are from 1:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays, while it is closed from Monday to Friday, so it is recommended to check the schedule before visiting.
This brewery is particularly famous for its sake called "Tanaka Rokujugo," which has garnered attention for its unique brewing method.
Shiraito Shuzo employs a traditional technique called "Hane-ki" for sake pressing, which effectively suppresses any off-flavors, resulting in a clear and refined taste.
Additionally, they use locally sourced Yamada Nishiki rice, which adds to the exceptional flavor of their products.
While there are no seating areas in the shop, a wide variety of products are available for purchase as souvenirs.
Their lineup includes "Shiraume no Niwa" plum wine and sweet sake, among many others.
"Shiraume no Niwa" is a luxurious item that features Nanko plums steeped in ten-year-old Daiginjo sake, and its sweetness and refreshing aroma can be enjoyed even by those who typically do not drink sake.
Furthermore, in addition to sake and sweet sake, they also sell treats like "anpan" (red bean paste bread), which have become popular items.
The chefs at Shiraito Shuzo are meticulous about selecting ingredients, using carefully chosen rice and water from various regions of Japan to brew their products with great care.
As a result, the sake and liqueurs produced here are highly praised.
In particular, "Kizou 50" is known for its fruity flavor and clear aftertaste, making it a favorite among many customers.
Located conveniently for tourists visiting Shiraito Falls, this place offers an opportunity to enjoy delicious sake and sweets crafted from the blessings of nature.
Why not visit and experience its charm for yourself?
